“The Architects of Your Cage”: Mavericks Monthly NL #15

MF · 01/09/2026 ·

Dear Mavericks,

As humans, we’re always looking for someone to blame. Remember being a kid, opening the fridge door, and the milk crashes out onto the floor. Milk everywhere. Mum runs in screaming, “What have you done?!” And before your brain even engages, you’re blaming your stupid brother for not putting it back properly. She’s screaming at you for opening the door too fast. In reality, it was just a simple accident, but nobody wants to own it.

Human beings are addicted to finding someone else to blame. It’s our default coping mechanism.

Look around you today and you see that exact same blame-seeking operating at scale. You see people complaining about corporate greed, bureaucratic creep, mindless political class, and the sheep who comply with every tyrannical mandate handed down to them. If you’ve climbed further up the ladder of reality, you point your finger higher up the food chain; naming the City of London banksters, the Zionist oligarchy, the Rothschilds, or the literal satanic rot running through elite networks.

Naming the enemy is necessary! It’s human nature to seek the source of the rot!

But what if the hardest truth you will read this year is that the most effective cage ever built is not the state’s digital grid, the central bank’s ledger, or the surveillance camera on the corner?

What if the most dangerous cage is the one running silently inside your own skull, installed before you were old enough to ask a single question?

Lets dig in!

Section 1 — Who Built the Cage (The Installation)

Here is a number that should stop you in your tracks. Neuroscientists estimate that roughly ninety-five percent of your daily decisions, your emotional reactions, your judgments about people, your gut feelings about risk; all of it happens below the threshold of conscious awareness. You are not making those decisions. Your subconscious is making them for you, milliseconds before your conscious mind even knows a decision was required.

To understand why, consider the bandwidth problem. Your subconscious mind processes approximately eleven million bits of information per second. It is running pattern recognition, emotional memory recall, threat detection, and survival scripting simultaneously, around the clock, without you ever being aware of it. Your conscious mind, the part you think of as “you,” the part reading this sentence right now, processes roughly forty to fifty bits per second. That is not a rounding error. That’s a ratio of two hundred and twenty thousand to one.

This is why cognitive neuroscientists describe the conscious mind not as the president of the organisation, but as the press secretary. The president,  your subconscious, has already made the decision, weighed the inputs, and chosen the direction. The press secretary steps to the podium afterwards and constructs a logical, articulate, entirely believable narrative explaining why “you” decided what you decided. You believe the narrative because it sounds like you. It uses your vocabulary, your values, your reasoning style. But it is the rationalisation of something that already happened, not the cause of it.

So the obvious question is; if the subconscious is running the show, who programmed it?

The answer is uncomfortable, because the installation happened before you had any say in the matter.

Between birth and approximately seven years of age, a child’s brain operates predominantly in low-frequency brainwave states called Delta and Theta. In adults, Theta is the frequency associated with deep hypnosis, twilight sleep, and that liminal space between waking and dreaming where the critical, analytical mind is completely offline. For a child under seven, this is not an altered state. This is their normal, everyday waking consciousness.

What this means in practice is that a young child has no critical filter. No ability to evaluate incoming information. No capacity to say, “I reject this belief” or “that is not true.” The conscious prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for analysis, scepticism, and rational evaluation, is essentially dormant. The child is not thinking about what they are absorbing. They are simply absorbing it. Their brain functions as a recording device, downloading the emotional reactions, behavioural patterns, financial attitudes, relationship models, and survival strategies of the parents and immediate culture directly into the subconscious database.

If your parents fought about money, your subconscious recorded “money is dangerous and creates conflict.” If your parents deferred to authority without question, your subconscious recorded “obedience is safe; questioning is dangerous.” If your family lived in scarcity, your subconscious recorded “there is never enough; hold on tight.” If your environment punished risk-taking, your subconscious recorded “stay small, stay quiet, stay safe.”

None of this was your choice. None of it was even conscious. It simply happened, and by the time you were old enough to evaluate whether any of it was true, the recording was already complete.

But the installation did not stop at age seven. Between roughly eight and twenty-five, the brain enters a consolidation phase. During this period, a process called synaptic pruning begins. Neural pathways that were repeatedly used during childhood get reinforced, strengthened, and coated in an insulating layer called myelin, which is essentially the brain’s way of converting frequently used software into permanent hardware. Pathways that were rarely used get eliminated entirely. The brain literally prunes away the connections it does not need and hardwires the ones it does.

Simultaneously, the adolescent brain becomes hyper-attuned to social hierarchies, peer validation, tribal belonging, and threat detection. This is when the subconscious absorbs the broader cultural rules: what your society considers normal, what it considers shameful, what it considers dangerous, and what happens to people who step outside the boundaries. Because the prefrontal cortex does not fully mature until approximately age twenty-five, all of this consolidation is happening through emotional and instinctual processing, not through cold, rational analysis.

By the time you reach physical adulthood, the age where society tells you that you are now a free, independent, rational decision-maker, the operating system is already complete. The hardware is installed. The firmware is locked. And the person you think of as “you” is largely running on code that was written by other people, in a different era, under different circumstances, before you had any ability to evaluate whether it served your interests or theirs.

That is the cage. Not the surveillance grid. Not the central bank. Not the political class. Those are external threats, and they are real, and we will keep fighting them. But the most sophisticated control mechanism ever devised is the one that makes you police yourself, without ever realising you are doing it.

Section 2 — How the Cage Runs You? (The Mechanism)

Understanding that the cage exists is one thing. Watching it operate in real time is something else entirely.

Here is how the mechanism actually works. You open your phone in the morning and read a headline: a new capital control measure, another central bank intervention, a fresh escalation in a war theatre, a bank quietly restricting withdrawals “for your protection.” You believe what happens next is a rational process. You read the facts, weigh the evidence, consider the implications, and arrive at a considered position.

That is not what happens.

What actually happens is this: the information hits your eyes, and within milliseconds, before a single conscious thought forms, your subconscious has already processed it. It has pattern-matched the headline against thirty, forty, fifty years of installed programming. It has checked the incoming information against the rules written into your firmware during childhood: “authority is trustworthy.” “The system is stable.” “Someone competent is in charge.” “Bad things happen far away, to other people.” “Do not rock the boat.”

Then, and only then, does your conscious mind arrive at the scene. And here is the part that should genuinely unsettle you; your conscious mind does not evaluate the situation. It evaluates the subconscious verdict. If the headline threatens the installed script, the press secretary goes to work. It constructs a soothing, logical-sounding narrative that neutralises the threat: “They would never actually do that.” “This is temporary.” “The experts will sort it out.” “I will act when there is more clarity.” “It is not that serious.”

That voice in your head does not sound like fear. It sounds like reason. That is precisely what makes it so effective. The cage does not feel like a cage; it feels like common sense.

This, by the way, is the neurobiological root of normalcy bias, the single most lethal cognitive condition of the Fourth Turning. Normalcy bias is not stupidity. It is not ignorance. Some of the most credentialed, intelligent, well-read people on earth are its most reliable victims, because intelligence does not disarm the programming; it simply gives the press secretary a more sophisticated vocabulary. A brilliant mind running corrupted firmware does not produce truth. It produces brilliant rationalisations for the corruption.

This is also the answer to the question we asked with NL #14 The Great Convergence, why do ninety-five percent of people watch their currency being debased, their savings surveilled, their freedoms legislated away, and respond by complaining about the price of coffee or their unripe avo’s?

Because they are not choosing paralysis. Their firmware is choosing it for them. The subconscious script, installed by parents who trusted institutions, by schools that rewarded compliance, by a culture that equates safety with obedience; it fires automatically whenever reality threatens the program. And the conscious mind, the loyal press secretary, dutifully converts that fear into a respectable-sounding excuse.

Now, zoom out, and notice how perfectly this serves the architects we named in NL #14.

The central bankers, the political class, the surveillance apparatus, they do not actually need to hide what they are doing anymore. Fauci can plead the Fifth a hundred times in front of cameras. The Epstein files can sit in plain view. Insiders can trade on information you will never see. Why does none of it trigger mass revolt? Because the external cage only works in partnership with the internal one. The state does not need to silence you. Your own operating system does it first, filtering out anything too threatening to the installed worldview, and dressing the dismissal up as discernment.

The most sophisticated control system ever built is not the one that forces compliance. It is the one that makes you comply voluntarily, while congratulating yourself for being sensible.

And here is the uncomfortable corollary. If this mechanism runs everyone, it runs you too. The fact that you are reading this newsletter does not exempt you. In fact, if the Press Secretary is scoffing at the lunicy herein, well you now know why!

Awareness of the external architects is not the same as freedom from the internal one. Plenty of people see the corruption clearly, speak about it fluently, and still never move their capital, never build the structure, never leave the casino, because some quiet, inherited script whispers that now is not the time, that it is too risky, that staying put is the prudent course.

The cage does not only keep people asleep.

It keeps the awake standing still; like the proverbial “deer in the headlights”!

Section 3 — Seeing the Bars (The Mirror)

So here is the obvious question. If the cage is invisible, if it dresses itself up as reason, even if the awake are held by it, how do you ever see it in yourself?

The good news is the bars do leave fingerprints. The cage is invisible, but its effects are not. You can’t observe the firmware directly, but you can observe what it makes you do, and more importantly, what it reliably stops you from doing. Learning to see the bars is really about learning to catch the mechanism in the act. There are three places where it always shows itself.

The first fingerprint is the reflexive excuse.

Pay attention to the speed of your own dismissals. When someone presents you with an uncomfortable idea, a jurisdiction you should consider, a structure you should build, a move you should make, notice how fast the objection arrives. If the “reason” not to act shows up in under five seconds, fully formed and sounding very sensible, that was not analysis. That was the press secretary, delivering a pre-written statement. Real due diligence takes time. It asks questions, requests documents, runs numbers. The firmware does none of that. It simply declares: “Too complicated. Too risky. Not for people like me.” Speed is the tell. The faster the certainty, the more likely it is the cage talking.

The second fingerprint is the emotional signature.

Here is a reliable diagnostic. Present your conscious mind with a concrete sovereign action. Moving capital offshore. Structuring assets beyond reach. Establishing residency elsewhere. Taking delivery of metal. Now watch what your body does. If the response is calm curiosity, that is your rational mind genuinely evaluating. But if the response is a wave of irritation, ridicule, or a sudden urgent need to explain why the person suggesting it is naive, extreme, or “one of those people,” you have found a bar. The firmware defends itself emotionally, not logically. Anger at an idea is almost never about the idea. It is about the threat the idea poses to the installed script. The strength of your emotional reaction is a precise measurement of how close you have come to the edge of your programming.

The third fingerprint is the gap between knowing and doing.

This is the most honest mirror of all. Make a private list of the things you already know you should do. Not things you are unsure about. Things where the analysis is done, the conclusion is clear, and the case is overwhelming. Now look at how long some of those items have been sitting there. Months. Sometimes years. That gap, between conviction and action, is not a scheduling problem. It is not a resources problem. It is the cage, operating exactly as designed. Every month that a known action sits undone, the press secretary generates fresh justification for the delay, and each justification feels like prudence. “After the election.” “Once this deal closes.” “When things calm down.” Things do not calm down. That is the whole point of the Fourth Turning. The waiting is the cage.

Now, a warning, because this is where most people who get this far, go wrong.

Seeing the bars is not a one-time revelation. You do not spot the mechanism once and walk free. The firmware was installed over decades, and it reasserts itself quietly, constantly, in new forms. The man who sees through the banking system but cannot see his own fear of his family’s disapproval. The woman who moves her capital but stays frozen on residency. The Maverick who talks fluently about the panopticon while his entire life remains inside it. Deprogramming is not an event. It is a practice, closer to training a muscle than flipping a switch. Which is precisely why NL #9, Training your mind for positive action, was not a detour from this series. It was the preparation for it.

And this is where the sequencing of these newsletters stops being accidental. NL #14 – The Great Convergence showed you the external architects. Section 1 and 2 of this issue showed you the internal mechanism they depend on. Section 3 has shown you how to catch it operating in yourself.

What remains is the only question that matters: what can you actually do about it?

That is Section 4  —  And the answer is probably not what you expect, because the way out of the cage is not more information, more courage, or more waiting for the right moment. It is something far more mechanical, and far more available to you right now.

Section 4 — The First Key (Deprogramming)

Here is where every book on this subject fails you.

They diagnose brilliantly and prescribe uselessly; “Wake up.” “Raise your consciousness.” “Be courageous.” Wonderful. And then what? You close the book, feel briefly heroic, and go back to the exact same bank account, the exact same jurisdiction, the exact same life, waiting for the feeling of readiness that never arrives.

Readiness is not coming. That feeling you are waiting for, the one where the risk finally feels acceptable and the moment finally feels right, is itself a product of the firmware. You must understand, that the cage has been built as a moving target. There will always be one more headline to interpret, one more cycle chart to study, one more expert webinar to attend. The people who escaped the Soviet Union, fled Rhodesia, left Lebanon, got out of Venezuela, did not wait until they felt ready. By the time readiness arrives, the door has closed. Every single historical case says the same thing.

Forget readiness! Forget courage! If fact courage is unreliable fuel – It burns hot and burns out fast!

The way out of the cage is mechanical and it works like this  …

You do not think your way out. You act your way out, in small, irreversible increments.

The firmware cannot survive completed action. It thrives in the space between knowing and doing, because that space is where it generates excuses indefinitely. But once an action is completed, something remarkable happens. The press secretary flips sides. The same mechanism that spent months explaining why you could not open that offshore account will now explain, with equal confidence, why it was obviously the right move and why you should have done it sooner.

“Your psychology does not lead your behavior.
Your psychology follows your behavior and then takes credit for it.”

This is one of the most replicated findings in behavioral science, and it is the master key to the whole problem.

So the protocol is not to “become brave.” It is this …

Step one: Shrink the action until it cannot trigger the alarm.

The firmware has a threat threshold. “Move my entire net worth offshore” trips every alarm at once. “Open one account and move a small sum” slides right under it. You are not trying to win the argument with your own programming. You are trying to route around it. Every large sovereign action decomposes into small ones. A trust is a phone call to a vetted lawyer. A second residency is an application form and a flight booking. Physical metal is a purchase order with SWP or Silver Bullion. None of these individual steps is scary. That is the point.

Step two: Make it irreversible within seven days.

This is the part nobody tells you. An intention has a half-life. Every day an unexecuted decision sits on your desk, the probability of execution drops and the firmware’s rearguard action gets stronger. Seven days is roughly the window. So every step gets a deadline, and the deadline gets a commitment device. Book the call before you finish your morning coffee. Wire the first tranche before Friday. Tell another Maverick what you are doing and when, because a witnessed commitment is ten times harder to walk back than a private one. This is not weakness. This is engineering around a known defect in your own machinery.

Step three: Let the completed action rewire the next one.

This is where the cascade starts, and it is the reason the people in this community who have built genuine sovereign setups all tell the same story. The first offshore account felt enormous. The second felt administrative. The first bar of allocated metal felt like a leap. The fifth felt like a Tuesday. Each completed action does two things: it physically moves you further outside the cage, and it starves the firmware of its central claim, which is that action is dangerous. Nothing kills an irrational fear faster than surviving the thing you feared. Momentum is not a motivational slogan. It is the mechanical process of the press secretary running out of material.

Step four: Use the collective as scaffolding.

Here is why Section 3 of NL #14 and the whole architecture of this community matters, and it is not sentimentality. The firmware’s most powerful input is social proof. It constantly scans the herd and asks, “What are people like me doing?” If everyone around you is compliant, compliance feels sane and sovereignty feels extreme. That is not a character flaw. It is a survival instinct that has been pointed at the wrong reference group. The fix is not willpower. It is changing the reference group. When you spend your time around people for whom offshore structures, multiple residencies, physical metal, and hard assets are simply Tuesday’s, your internal definition of “normal” resets. The cage does not need to be fought. It needs to be made irrelevant by a better herd. That is what the Signal chats, the meetups, the Buenos Aires asados, and the Cayman Summit are actually for. Not networking. But Recalibration!

Now, one honest caveat, because this newsletter has never been in the business of selling comfort.

The cage does not open once and stay open. You will build a structure and then sit frozen on the next decision. You will move capital and then freeze on residency. You will take delivery of metal and then find a brilliant, reasonable, meticulously argued excuse for why the second citizenship can wait. The firmware reasserts itself at every new threshold, dressed each time in fresh logic.

The deer does not leave the road because it saw the headlights once.

It leaves when it moves its legs.

So the practice is permanent, and it is simple: notice the reflexive excuse, check the emotional signature, measure the gap between knowing and doing, shrink the next action, make it irreversible within seven days, and let the completed action do the rewiring for you.

Which brings us to the close of this series.

In NL #14 – The Great Convergence, we showed you the architects and the physics of the collapse. In this issue we showed you the invisible cage they depend on, the three fingerprints that expose it, and the mechanical process that dissolves it. There is nothing left to understand. There is only the list you wrote privately while reading Section 3, the one with the items that have been sitting there for months, sometimes years.

Pick the smallest one. Not the most important one. The smallest one.

Seven days.

Then tell the tribe you did it.

THE MAVERICK DIRECTIVE: WHAT NOW?

We aren’t building a “community” for the sake of conversation; we’re building a lifeboat for the end of a cycle. If you’re just reading, you’re missing the point. The “Collective Defense” requires active participation.

Here is how you plug into the infrastructure we’ve built.

1. EVENTS & MEETUPS: From Cayman to the World

We just wrapped our CI-Mavericks Summit in Grand Cayman, where thirty-plus JV members converged to cut through the noise and focus on actionable sovereignty. We broke down the “Billionaire Structure at a Millionaire’s Price Tag” and how to move capital offshore, hold it in treasury solutions, and compound it for a fraction of what a private family office would charge.

  • Catch the Replay: All event details, presentation decks, and video archives are live on the Mavericks platform; links HERE
  • Mark Your Calendar: The 2027 CI Mavericks Conference is officially set for July 9–10, 2027. Save the date here.
  • Portugal Meetup: Join us for our next social gathering on October 31st in Colares, just outside of Lisbon. We’ll be at the world’s westernmost winery for a BBQ lunch, wine tastings, and unfiltered conversation with friends. We have about 15 people confirmed—join the Signal group here to coordinate.

2. MAVS SOCIAL
This is our privacy-first forum, and it needs your engagement to stay sharp. We’ve seen some great discussions lately, but the forum thrives when you share your own experiences. Whether you’re diving into the latest threads on offshore structuring or sharing your own recon from the field, your post could be the missing piece for another member’s puzzle.

  • Mavericks Library – Books & Recommended Reading
  • Ongoing SubV Project updates, like Terra Oil
  • The Mavs Tech, Security and Online Privacy is one of our most active discussions

Log in and get active. If you don’t have access, create an account here.

3. THE MAVS SIGNAL CHAT If you want to know what the “Collective Defense” sounds like in real-time, get on the wire. It’s sometimes rowdy, occasionally irrelevant, and always fast-moving. It isn’t the place to shout into the void about your strongly held beliefs or repost endless headlines; listen, share, be constructive, and keep it productive.

If you’re obnoxious, we’ll politely ask you to uck foff leave.

4. MAVERICKS ONLINE:

The Mavericks portal is stronger by the day. Log in to your account and navigate to the DEALS header. You’ll find our complete archive of past newsletters, webinars, event recordings, and the full intelligence vault from the Cayman Summit. Everything we build here is designed to be audit-proof, legal, and sovereign.

https://mavericksproject.org/my-account/

5. SUBVERTERE CAPITAL & GUNBAY GLOBAL Our hard-asset pipeline is evolving. While Añelo Oasis and Riverland Ag have successfully closed, we are currently gearing up for a new wave of energy deals.

Furthermore, watch this space: We are finalizing the rollout of GunBay Global Advisory. Think of it as a multi-family office built for the Maverick mindset, an offshore investment vehicle with integrated treasury products, administrative tax support, and a unified platform for direct deal participation. It’s the infrastructure we’ve been building toward, and it’s coming very soon.

https://mavericksproject.org/my-account/

6. THE PARTNER NETWORK We don’t recommend “generalists”; we partner with the specialists we use ourselves.

  • Precious Metals: We have negotiated exclusive storage and acquisition discounts with our partners at SWP and Silver Bullion. We have a new partner with storage in Dubai & South Africa, also about to join the network.
  • Structure & Residency: Stop guessing and stop listening to the YouTube shills. Reach out to us with what you’re trying to build, and we’ll point you to the partners who have been vetted by the tribe.

THE FINAL WORD The Jenga tower is shaking. You’ve read the history and seen the rot in broad daylight. You can stay in the casino and hope the “sell” button still works when the music stops, or you can join the Collective Defense and build something that survives the reset.

Stop interpreting the noise. Start building your sovereign reality.

Build what lasts!
